I Wish I Could Fall Asleep Anywhere

Okay, maybe I don't want to sleep in a planter, but I do envy a cat's ability (and my husband's) to fall asleep anywhere. This is what I found on my porch one day last week when I went out to water the plants. We call her "Paws". Can you see why? She has extra toes on her feet. She moved in with us about 12 years ago. We came home from church one night, and she'd given birth to 6 kittens in our garage. Up until that time, we didn't know she was our cat :-) She's never been a cuddly cat, but we love her anyway.
Blessings,
Marcia

  1. So cute to see her curled up in that planter! Cats can make almost anything their bed! My kitty likes to sleep in a basket that we have the holds magazines.

  4. Thanks for visiting me again. I have that issue of Mary Jane's farm. Your kitty looks comfy-cozy. My hubby says I can fall asleep anywhere and it's true...he says I'm asleep before he backs out of the driveway.

  6. What a hoot! We have 3 cats, but I've never had one curl up in a planter....an empty birdbath in the middle of winter, but not a planter!

Thanks for your kind words on my post for Scotty yesterday!

  8. My husband can (and does) fall asleep just about anywhere and very quickly, too. :)

I just wish that I could fall asleep quicker, but I have so much going through my head that I have to try and sort it out first. haha!

  10. It does amaze me where cats can squeeze into, no wonder they are always getting themselves into trouble. And I know what you mean about them adopting us, we have a kitty that we brought with us when we moved a few months ago, she's a stray and we called her Poof because she's so fluffy. The names we come up with ...

  12. Hi Marcia,

She's so cute! I think cats pick us, we don't pick them. Amazing that she decided to curl up in that planter! Great photo!

  14. Believe it or not, I have a little dog that likes to sit in the sun in a planter. I think it's something about the dirt. Those pumpkin moon pies sound delish. Mimi

  16. Marcia,
Thanks for saying HI at Cackleberry Cottage! Your kitty is so sweet. Sadly, I CAN fall asleep just about any time I sit still for very long--that includes while surfing the net! We have an all black kitty with green eyes that has been hanging around our house. I have been putting out food for her eventhough my sweety doesn't like it. My neighbor says he has seen her go into the rain gutter at the curb, and then come out again down the block. I have started calling her Ninja!

  18. When I saw your photo in the comments area of a blog recently, I was quite taken aback, as you are the image of someone who was a very dear friend at one time. You reminded me of her so much, of happy times we shared... don't really know why I am telling you this except I wanted to, and to say that you have an inner beauty, like she had, that shines through in your photo. As well as being a natural beauty on the outside too! Please don't be offended by flattery... some people are, don't know how to take it. Take it in the friendly spirit in which I send it.

  19. Marcia, I don't have a cat so can't relate, but have a husband who can fall asleep ANYWHERE ANYTIME! LOL!

To your question about 2 refs - Good Question! Yes, we do have a ref in the garage. Thank Goodness! Of course it was full too. I'm a hoarder. Storing up for a disaster or whatever. :)

  20. Hi Marcia,
thanks for stopping by my blog! You have a neat blog and such a nice family.

We don't have a cat, but I agree with you about men being able to fall asleep just as easily as a cat!

    Have a blessed weekend!

  22. My father always said that my husband could sleep even if you stood him up against a brick wall!
Guess he's like your cat! My daughter currently has a cat that "she doesn't know she has" too! No kittens though...not yet anyway :)
