Hi my friends, I'd like to share something with you.
I've become an antique :-)
"An item which is at least 100 years old and is collected or desirable due to rarity, condition, utility, or some other unique feature. Motor vehicles, power tools and other items subject to vigorous use in contrast, may be considered antiques in the U.S. if older than 50 years, and some electronic gadgets of more recent vintage may be considered antiques. Another general rule of thumb is 75 years for most objects to become antiques."
According to Wikipedia, here in the U.S. I've become an antique ;-) Okay, so I'm only turning 50, and not 75 or 100, but that part about "other items subject to vigorous use" seals it, I just know it does :-) However I think that although Wiki "might" classify me as an antique today, I'm going to grab onto that part about "desirable due to rarity, condition, utility, or some other unique feature". It makes me feel much better about turning 50 ;-) And if that doesn't do it, I've got one more ace up my sleeve. I've got people around here that feel this way about me.
So, I may be feeling more aches and pains these days but I have so much to be thankful for. Thank you God, for all the blessings in my now, 50 years of life!
To celebrate, I'm going to be having a giveaway soon, so check back in the next week to find out more.
I'd also like to say "Happy 30th Anniversary" to my wonderful neighbors, Karen and Steff. We couldn't ask for better neighbors than you two, and we're even more thankful to be able to call you friends!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone,
Blessings,
Marcia

Have a wonderful birthday regardless of the number!
BTW I love the old Singer sewing machine - I wish my mum hadn't given hers away now.

Happy Birthday Marcia! I wish you a year of great blessings and joy! ::Jill
Have a WONDERFUL Birthday!!!! Us moms our like fine wine, we only get better with age. Of course I don't drink wine, so I can't really vouch for that. Maybe a better analogy (at least for me) would be like old crocks, the older with cracks and chips and history of a life well spent, the better. Hmmm, not sure if that sounds right, but you know what I mean. You are blessed and so is your family. Enjoy your momentous day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Happy 50th.....I like the desirable because of rarity line.
Besides the Maynard connection we now share the same age.
50 is the new 40.

If you an antique then I'm a relic or maybe a really old and rare antique! LOL!

Actually I love the fifties. I'm 53, and proud to say it. Never thought I'd end up saying that. But it's a very liberating time of life.

i once heard a man say any age is fantastic considering the alternative! the 50's are a great era...
Happy Birthday Marcia, You have much to celebrate. Sweet kids, good husband, your Faith, 50 is only a number. Enjoy your day.
hahaha! You are funny! silly! I think anyone that has as much fun in life as you do is not an antique! Happy Birthday!!!! I hope that this year will be so blessed and filled with great joy for you!
I learned to sew on a sewing machine like in the picture. I wish I still had it cause it was simple and I could do it. The modern one I have (well, that is old now too!), I can't figure out how to use! ha! : )
Blessings to you!

Happy 5oth Birthday!!! You look very young!!!!! I hope it was a very happy and blessed one! :)
I am coming up on my 49th bday in September (I'm already feeling the aches and pains, and those make you realize you aren't getting any younger). You are right though...God has been so good through all those years! I am going to choose to count the blessings, instead of those aches and pains...or any new wrinkles!! :)
Keep smiling! p.s. Love that Singer!

Haven't been by for a while, and see from scrolling down, I've missed a lot of neat stuff.
My mother had a treadle Singer Sewing Machine. I remember sitting at her feet and watching her peddle.
Lovely pictures of your family and twins...
Thanks for stopping by the Art Blog. and praying for Lynn.
Love and Hugs

Happy Birthday. 50 seems so young to me. You are not an antique, but are so funny. Looking it up...only an homeschooling Mom would think to do that LOL. Enjoy this time so when you look back at 50 when you are 60 something, it will seem so young.
I'll have to quote the Proverb about a gray head to my husband. He is always worrying about all his gray.
Happy Birthday Marcia, Have a sweet day!
I hope that in the meantime you have well adjusted to your brand new life as a wonderful antique..., that singer is beautiful!!
Happy Birthday dear Marcia!
These young children running around the house keep us young, don't they?!
Happy Birthday!
Manuela
My 50th bothered me a bit, not sure why. Now I look back on it as one of "the good old days."
Love the framed artwork... I'd put that front & center.
Peaceful weekend to you & your adorable family.
