Smile :-)

You can grow a garden in the desert...

I thank God for the abundance He has provided,
my husband and son for building my little garden beds,
and  Susan Branch and her book  called "The Summer Book" for inspiring me to start it.

You don't need a large plot of land to have a garden, just a small one will do, and you can reap the harvest in a month or two :-)
I'm linking with Joyce at  I Love Pretty Little Things and her Friday Pretties party.
Stop by and tell her "hi" if you get a chance.
You still have time to enter my giveaway here too.

Have a wonderful, smiley, bountiful weekend my friends!
Blessings,
Marcia

  1. Look at your wonderful bounty! My yard is too shady for a garden, so I did some containers this year and had fun with it! The book looks great, too! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your nice comments~ I am a new follower!

  2. Hi Marcia,
Your garden is beautiful! My husband takes care of our small garden. (I'm not very good with plants of any kind!) We sure appreciate what we get from it. Thank you for sharing your photos.

  6. Hi Marcia,

Your tomatoes look so good. We had a lot of them but suddenly some of them became brown and I had to throw them away. I'm really sad.

  13. Marcia-It is funny but I never think of people in the desert having a garden-lol I think of them as growing a cactus or scrub tree!

You have a beautiful little plot there and I love the lushness of it! Diana

  16. Love your garden! :) The deer ravaged our tomatoes this year and we didn't get even one, but our sweet neighbors had an abundance so they've shared. :) LOVE having good neighbors!

  17. Love the "words of wisdom"! Your vegetable garden looks wonderful! I've been wanting to start one, but keep putting it off just because we have so much of the ornamental garden left to do... one of these days. :)

  22. Don planted a little tomato plant at the beginning of summer. It was about 6 inches high, from Rite Aid $1.49.

We have had fresh tomatoes all summer. That plant became Jack in the Bean Stalk, and reached higher than the back fence.

Love the way you have displayed the fresh goodies.

  25. I've been wanting to start a garden for a couple of years. Thank goodness I didn't this year, it's been so hot, I don't think anything would have survived!

  26. Your little garden looks wonderful! All those yummy tomatoes.
We are finally getting tomatoes, but have lots more that are very green. It was a slow summer for our garden. I guess it just did not get hot enough soon enough. But it is worth it anyway. There is nothing in the world as wonderful as a garden fresh tomato!

  30. Your tomatoes look scrumptious! I think the desert was a great place to grow tomatoes this summer, it was too cold and cloudy at the beach. It barely felt like summer here this year and the tomatoes surely felt it.
