Simple Snowflakes

Snow....
has not come to our house yet...
however, it's starting to *snow* around here ;-)
Give your kids a snowflake punch...
 and snow suddenly appears everywhere!
Even mom starts cutting too :-)
They find their way onto everything...
If you want to find out how to make this snowflake and so many more free crafts,

Sometimes God gives you a little snow bonus too :-)
You can see many more White Wednesday posts over at  Faded Charm :-)
To all of you who answered my previous post question,
Thank you for all of your wonderful movie ideas!
Blessings,
Marcia

What's Your Favorite Christmas Movie?

I'm not the biggest T.V. or movie fan in the family, but at this time of year...things change.
I love Christmas movies! I have my favorites and I'm sure you do too. Here are some of mine:
Little Women...I've seen 3 versions of this movie, but this one is my favorite. When I was
growing up they would show it on T.V. every year at Christmas time. No videos back then, so I
would scour the T.V. guide to see when it was on :-)
Everybody's favorite...It's a Wonderful Life...
need I say more about this one?
The Bishop's Wife...we don't own this one, but it seems to be on every year
and I love watching it.
Miracle On 34th Street...and Meet Me in St. Louis,
along with Christmas in Connecticut...
Are you seeing a pattern here?
Yes, I love old movies :-)
Here's a newer one I really like though.
A Christmas Romance...I know it's mushy, but I like mushy :-)
I wish I could find a dvd copy of this one!

Here are a few my family loves to watch:
Elf...we laugh every time we watch it!

 The Home Alone Series...

and The Santa Clause series..."ditto" to the laughing on these too!

 The Grinch...My husband's personal favorite...
no, he isn't one, but I think he has this movie memorized!

I also love all of the Hallmark movies shown at this time of year.
You can click on the link to get their schedule here.
No list would be complete though, without including this one:
The Nativity Story...
The real reason for the season!
I hope you find time to snuggle up with your family and watch a few too.
What's your favorite Christmas movie?
I'd love to know :-)
 Blessings,

A New Love...

....has entered our lives.
Meet Milo :-)
We haven't had a new baby animal in our family since before our twins were born.
We are all in "kitty" heaven (although that litter box will be headed outside very soon!)
He's just a little ball of love.
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and ate to your hearts content.
If you're going shopping on Black Friday....good luck my friends :-)
Let the Christmas Rush begin!
Blessings,
Marcia

Songbird

I found this little birdie at Target on Saturday,
she was the very last one...
She only cost $1...
that made me smile.
I sat her on my mantel, but it's a little crowded there,
so she thought it might be better if she had her own cage ;-)
I copied some vintage Christmas music and put it on the bottom of the cage...
{she is a "songbird" after all}
I sat her on a tiny nest,
made a little silver rose, and a "Joyeux Noel" sign
attached to a corsage pin...
a little ribbon at the top
and now she's singing like a lark :-)
It was a simple little craft...
the kind I like best :-)
She's joining Joyce for Friday Pretties,
 Courtney for Feathered Nest Friday,
and Donna for Saturday Nite Special.

I hope that you can too.
Blessings,
Marcia

Fluttering from the autumn tree.

Hoping that as you start to prepare for the holiday season to come,
you are able to take the time to enjoy the
simple pleasures of Autumn :-)
Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

Leaf Garland

I found this sweet little paper garland tutorial the other day...
and now we have leaf garlands showing up all over :-)
It's available as a free download over at a lovely blog called A Field Journal.
Thank you Livy :-)
If you haven't gotten all of your Thanksgiving decorations up
these make a nice little addition that takes just minutes to make :-)
Although I've made mine with plain white copy paper
they would be very pretty in the color of your choice
or even in vintage sheet music.
Visit Faded Charm for more White Wednesday posts :-)
Blessings,
Marcia

Bird Days

 I enjoy watching birds.

I read recently that this was a sign of getting older.
My turn to be King of the Hill!
I'm in trouble :-)

Are you my mother?
I like to come up with captions too :-)

I noticed that birds of a feather,

 really do flock together...

I thought it was interesting that they seemed to segregate themselves on land,
but when they took flight...

 They would soar all together!
This paints a beautiful picture,
and perhaps...
we can all learn a little lesson

 From the birds :-)
Have a blessed Sunday!

Heart Bouquet and Birthday Wishes

Every time I walk outside and see this, I think it looks like a heart :-)
I've been a little under the weather this week, so I haven't been able to get around to visit many of you.
Thanks so much to everyone who entered my giveaway. There's still time to enter here.
I'll be posting the winner on Friday :-) Good luck!
We've got lots of flowers blooming right now.
I love the pink edges on these mums.
A special "Happy Birthday" to my Dad! He's turning 85 tomorrow.
You can read about this wonderful man here if you'd like :-)
  Blessings to all of you,
Marcia
