Flower Girl Fatigue :-)

We are those crazy Californian's that woke up at 3:00 a.m. to watch
The Royal Wedding. That's the time it started here on the west coast.
I must admit I didn't stay awake long enough to see "The Kiss".
I'm thinking this sweet photo will follow this little girl the rest of her life though :-)
When I was a little girl, I was a flower girl in a wedding.
At the reception, a man came up to me and told me I'd stolen the show.
I didn't understand what he meant at the time,
and went crying to my mom, thinking I'd ruined the wedding.
I couldn't help but think of this when I saw this photo.
Isn't she precious?

We're having a yard sale tomorrow with several other families
on our block. It's nice to clear out the clutter,
but I realize that many have lost so much this week.
Please be praying for them.

*Jordan Update* Jordan is to be transported to Balboa Naval Medical Center here in
California this weekend. I'll let you know when I get a new address for him.
We're thrilled that he'll be closer to home.
 Blessings to all of you,
Marcia

  6. Although I had no plans to watch the wedding, hubby turned the tv on just after 1 pm our time and it had just started and was on every single channel so couldn't get away from it. I thought it was lovely that they kept it simple and elegant and don't understand why there are those who think they have the right to judge a wedding that has absolutely nothing to do with them. Good luck with your yard sale. Best wishes, Tammy

  9. I also woke up early (3:00) to watch the wedding. Enjoyed it so much. Kate was beautiful in her gown. That little girl will probably be interviewed when Will & Kate's daughter or son gets married in about 25 years.
Good luck with the garage sale. . .

    Smiles,
    Carol

  12. That is a cute picture. I missed the whole thing. I guess that happens a lot when you don't have a tv. I do remember watching his parents' wedding moons ago.

  14. Such a wonderful post!! My husband and I got up at 4 am, and stayed up the rest of the day! We watched from start to finish....it was important to us to watch history in the making!

I was a flower girl once, at my aunt's wedding. I didn't drop a petal. I liked the way the colors looked in the basket!!

Continuing prayers for Jordan. I am so glad he will be closer to all of you.

Take Care and have fun cleaning out the house!

  17. That cute little girl did provide one of my favorite moments...

And I, too, am praying for those in the South who were affected by the tornadoes.

    Still praying for Jordan, too!

  18. Awww....to think that your little heart was crushed by that compliment when you were so young. We never know for sure what kids hear when we speak. We have some funny stories too.

The royal wedding was so pretty.
I enjoyed watching the coverage of it.

  19. I watched it too but at 10:00 AM on BBC America. They replayed it all morning. It was wonderful!

So happy to hear Jordan will be in California! I will relate this news to my prayer group. Praise the Lord!
I didn't get up to watch the wedding, but I did catch it just intime to see Kates lovely dress! I love her dress!
Oh I hope your yard sale is a success! I love having yard sales! It's so liberating to declutter!

  24. My cousin stole the show at my aunt's wedding when he was a little boy. He was the ring bearer and the entire wedding he made faces and kept pulling his bowtie out and letting it snap back. I am sure my aunt was puzzled about all the chuckles until she found out later what he was doing.

  26. So glad to hear that Jordan is moving closer to home. It'll help lower the stress level I'm sure. I was a flower girl when I was a little girl too. Don't remember it too much but I've got some pictures. I DVR'd the wedding and watched it at a decent hour. Your pretty picture of the aprons is wonderful. Mimi

  31. I taped the wedding and watched part of it later...Loved the wee little flower girls and pages...so sweet! Good news about Jordan...all the troops are in our daily prayers...my next door neighbor ships out this week...she is a single Mom...her parents (who are the actual neighbors) have the kids. I sure hope we can bring our troops home soon.

  35. Hi Marcia,
I loved the wedding, it was so beautiful! I thought the little ones did a great job, and you are right this little one was just tired and the photo will follow her the rest of her life.
Wonderful news about Jordan, he must be healing enough to travel, isn't Balboa Naval Medical Center in San Diego. I will keep him in my prayers as always. My nephew is stationed in San Diego and is getting ready for his 4th deployment with the Marines.
Have a sweet day and big hugs, Elizabeth
