Even dab the brush back onto the paper plate so there is really barely any paint on the brush. Then just go along the edges of the mirror, a couple of spots here and there. Play with the colors and look you want to add to rough it up. IF you don't like it, you can always paint it white again! :) It's fun to experiment!!
Enjoy! :)
@}~`}~~~ GloriaGloriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14423246756894055585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4701784533639660211.post-78697396648345899092010-07-31T16:05:23.640-07:002010-07-31T16:05:23.640-07:00Oh I like it plain white like you have it. I haven't tried it yet, but it might be what you are looking for. You mix it with an acrylic paint (I got traditional raw umber but you can use any color), apply it, and then wipe it back. It would catch in all the detailed areas of the mirror. Teamed up with the sanding that other people mentioned, it would really give some age.WhisperWood Cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15651638929077510587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4701784533639660211.post-16238653801180991172010-07-29T10:07:22.181-07:002010-07-29T10:07:22.181-07:00Welcome to White Wednesday! I especially love that mason jar filled with seashells... nice details.

You could try distressing the mirror by using a light weight sandpaper and gently rubbing in areas where you would like to remove some paint, usually where you would find normal wear and tear of an item (corners and where it would be handled when picking it up).
