Summers Past

I want to thank everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes for my daughter Serena.
You are all so sweet!
School has started back at our house. We are back to a schedule so my time in blog land is a bit more limited right now. I will do a post on how we started homeschooling sometime in the future. I am now beginning my 16th year of homeschooling, and I still continue to learn new things.
Summer is still apparent around here too. It's warm, and will probably stay that way for a few more weeks.
I came across these old photos recently and thought they'd make a nice end-of-summer post.
A reminder of the simple summers of our past.
The little girl is me, along with my brother Kevin.
I just love the load of white laundry hanging in the background.
Don't look too close though, I think there are "unmentionables" hanging there!
My memory tells me that Kevin sometimes picked on me, as older brothers will do.
Maybe I asked for it :-)

As this summer passes, I hope that you all have wonderful memories to treasure.

I'm linking with Faded Charm and all the fun White Wednesday posts.
Stop by and visit them if you get a chance!
Blessings,
Marcia

  5. Very sweet, I love your cute little bathing suit. I would love to hear how you started home schooling. I think it is so neat the way we all heard the Lord's voice and how He has used it through the years. Congrats on 16 years of Home Educating.

  10. What a precious post! Wonderful photos to cherish no doubt! The laundry on the line just adds to their sweet charm...:)
Blessings to you as you start another year of homeschooling. I homeschooled all three of my girls "one" year with the aid of an Independent Study teacher, then my youngest daughter a different year (6th grade). What a commitment it truly is!! May God give you a renewed energy and strength to do this! :)

  15. Marcia, There are many photographs in our family collection where the laundry is blowing in the breeze! And we didn't have the luxury of a pool- instead, we had a large galvanized tub. LOL
Ah, such fun memories of early childhood...

  21. Oh I love those pics Marcia!
They really take me back to a simpler time. Of course childhood should always be a simpler time.
And I bet you are very busy with the home schooling. That is quite the project and I admire you for sticking to it this long.

  24. Such sweet pictures, Marcia!! I had to chuckle about one thing- why was the swimming pool always put near the clothesline? It is practically under the clothesline in all my childhood pictures! *LOL* (safety line, maybe? *giggle*)

  25. Those are great photos of a simpler time. I remember hanging the wash out with my Grandma when we were young and the two of you in the little pool reminded me of sitting in the back yard watching my boys in the little pool we had for them...such wonderful memories!

  26. Those pictures reminded me of very similar ones my mom took of my kids when they were little such sweet memories!
