I spoke to Jordan today :-) It was wonderful to hear his voice.
He sounded so good, and although I wanted to be
encouraging to him, instead it was Jordan who encouraged me.
He said that he is supposed to be transferred to California
in a week or two. We are thrilled that we'll be able to go see him
when he is able to have more visitors. My parents are both 85,
and don't get out much, but they want to see him as soon as they can.
Please continue to pray for him. He had skin graft surgery this week,
and he told me it went well (did I tell you how good he sounded ?) :-)
However, I know there is a lot of pain with this, and he has
many more surgeries to undergo.
He also has a friend named Patrick who is there with similar injuries.
Patrick helped save Jordan's life, applying one of his tourniquets;
and then later the same day,
stepped on an IED himself, and was severely injured.
Jordan was able to get into a wheelchair and go and visit him this week.
I know that this was an encouragement to Patrick.
Please pray for him too.
Please pray for him too.
Jordan told me that he'd received lots of cards and notes
from so many of you. He appreciates them all.
Thank you so much my friends :-)
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Marcia
I hope he continues to progress well Marcia. How lovely it will be for you and your parents to see him. Hope all goes well for Patrick too.

ReplyDeleteOh Marcia, I am so happy that you got to talk to Jordan! He is my Hero and I am happy to hear he is receiving our cards:) I can't believe that the one who helped save his life had the same thing happen to him! I am sure that one of his Marine Brothers helped him too! These guys are true American Heros and I appreciate them so much! My Nephew will be heading back over in July for his second tour... God, please keep him safe!

Marica,
ReplyDeleteI came over from Lura's blog. I am her good friend. As I scrolled down to make a comment I was interested in your blogging name. As a result, I have read your miraculous 'love story' and the updates on Jordan and have offered a prayer for him and Patrick.
Despite the hardships of life we are never alone. God is there-always. Family and Friends can be blessings. And now, because of technology, Blogging Friends can be a great source of comfort and support. AMAZING.
By the way my sister lives in Crestline.
I am so thankful that you were able to speak with Jordan and that you were encouraged and that he will be close by to you soon. I am thankful for his continued healing and that of his friend. I cannot even begin to imagine how it must be for them, but my heart and prayers go out to them.
ReplyDeleteLeanne

Awesome news! Will continue praying for Jordan and family. Glad he will be closer soon!
ReplyDeleteHe is an inspiration, isn't he? From what you tell of him, he will find a way to triumph over this immense loss. In fact, I'll be surprised if he doesn't turn it into something positive in his life and the lives of others.
ReplyDeleteWe all need heroes.
=)
So good to hear! That good attitude will take him trough it! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know. Those poor boys. War, incomprehensible what it does.

Will add your nephew to our prayer list. It's so amazing when someone encourages us, who seems to be in a situation where they should be the one needing the encouragement. What a blessing he must be to your family. Thank you so much for your very kind comment on my little blog. Yours is very lovely, and I look forward to stopping back by often.
ReplyDeleteGod is good. We'll keep praying that he lifts Jordan up everyday and helps heal his wounds.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear the news...we will continue to keep him in our prayers. My soon to be nephew (he's engaged to my niece) just got back from Afghanistan...he's having a tough time sleeping...but he is safe now. It was tough seeing all the wounded coming home with him...so many heros...so young.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news, Marcia! I can imagine just how wonderful it must have been for you to hear Jordan's voice, making his well-being even that much more real for you. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a hero his friend is, too!! I am amazed by the bravery of all of the soldiers... and so grateful for them. I so wish there was a way to take all of their pain and suffering away...
I hope you have a wonderful week.
